The town of Two Dot lies about 10 miles west of Harlowton, Montana, off US Highway 12; or 25 miles north of Melville, MT, off US Highway 191. The nearest K-12 school system is located in Harlowton. Water
Water is plentiful on the Sedgwick Ranch for irrigation, stock water and fishing. Most pastures have two live creeks so cattle seldom walk more than 400 yards to water and never have to drink from a stock tank. There are four creeks flowing through the ranch year around, including Big Elk Creek, Crooked Creek, Basin Creek and Alkali Creek. You can enjoy fishing for Brook, Rainbow and Brown Trout in the streams or one of your private trout ponds.
Wildlife
The Sedgwick Ranch has an excellent population of Mule Deer along with Whitetail Deer, Antelope and the occasional Elk. The ranch has been under game management for the last several years with the quality of the trophy deer increasing yearly. Community
Two Dot takes its name from a local cattleman by the name of G.R. “Two Dot” Wilson. Wilson was given the nickname because of the brand he used on his livestock. The brand was two dots horizontally on both hips for cattle and two dots vertically on the left shoulder of horses.
